What healthy living activity do you enjoy doing? Most of my free time is spent on a golf course, especially because it’s a fun way to get exercise and be outside. Whether it’s an annual parade down Main Street, a festival or event hosted by a local organization our community gathered together in the downtown area makes me proud to live in Hutchinson. What’s your favorite community spirit activity to do in Hutchinson? I enjoy any activity or event located in downtown Hutchinson. I felt serving on the Hutch Rec Foundation board was a perfect opportunity to give my time and efforts to an organization that has positively impacted the early stages of my life. What drew you to serve on the Hutch Rec Foundation board? Growing up as a kid in Hutchinson, I was involved in multiple Hutch Rec activities such as youth soccer, basketball, and Dillon Nature Center camp. How long have you been on the Hutch Rec Foundation board? I started on the Hutch Rec Foundation Board in November 2019. We have three extraordinary children, 1 in college and 2 in High School and we have all been blessed to be part of such a great community. What else should we know about you? My wife Anita and I have lived in Hutchinson for over 20 years now. What healthy living activity do you enjoy doing? Our family is very competitive, so all enjoy various sporting activities such as running, swimming, playing basketball and tennis. We also enjoy spending time during third Thursdays in the downtown area. What’s your favorite community spirit activity to do in Hutchinson? From Hutch Fest to the Salty Dog Triathlon, Hutchinson has so many activities for the leisure to competitive individuals and families.

My family has had the privilege to full advantage of the opportunities presented to us here in Hutchinson. What drew you to serve on the Hutch Rec Foundation board? Serving on the Hutch Rec Foundation board is an opportunity to serve the community. How long have you been on the Hutch Rec Foundation board? I began on the Hutch Rec Foundation board in September 2019. I previously served on the Leadership Reno County Alumni Association and Big Brother Big Sisters of Reno County Boards and have been a member of the United Way Allocations Committee and Community Impact Grant Committee since 2014. I have been a Hutch/Reno County Chamber Ambassador as well as a TECH Hearts & Hands Volunteer. I enjoy serving on various boards and committees throughout the community. I have served as the Director of Medical Staff Services at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center since 2009 and have been an Online Instructor for Hutchinson Community College since January 2011. What else should we know about you? My significant other, Eddie, and I have two dogs and enjoy traveling, attending sporting events, and visiting craft breweries. What healthy living activity do you enjoy doing? I love walking or riding my bike on the Jim P Martinez Sunflower Trail. What’s your favorite community spirit activity to do in Hutchinson? It’s a toss-up between Third Thursday and Hutch Fest I plan to be in this community for many years to come, if not the rest of my life and joining the HRF Board of Directors will allow me to be a part of optimizing our community’s healthy lifestyle. I have been really impressed by the growth, evolution and leadership role that the Hutchinson Recreation Commission has manifested in becoming our “community organizer”. What drew you to serve on the Hutch Rec Foundation board? I was compelled to join the HRF Board because I feel strongly that as a member of this community, I have a responsibility to participate in leading Hutchinson and its residents to the healthiest (in all ways) they can be.
